Background

The scientific activities of the ELS are central to the society. The ELS was founded in 1995 as a platform for researchers active in the field of laryngology to share and collaborate on their work. And this is still one of the main purposes of the society today. As a result, for almost three decades, the ELS has produced a number of well-known guidelines, consensus statements and classifications that are used worldwide to support laryngologists in their daily practice and has supported effective collaborations on original research projects.

The scientific endeavors of the ELS are organized through our ELS Topics/Projects initiative.

Our new ELS Topics/Projects initiative aims to invigorate research and collaboration within our society, attracting the brightest minds in laryngology to explore, innovate, and advance our discipline. Former Scientific Committees have transitioned to ELS Topics, each encompassing multiple projects. Every project will have a designated leader who is responsible for overseeing its development and providing annual progress reports to the ELS Program Committee.

 Why Join the ELS Topics/Projects?

  1. Collaborative Research: Engage with fellow experts and researchers to tackle pressing issues in laryngology. Our projects cover a wide range of topics, including Airway Management, Laryngotracheal Stenosis, Laryngeal Cancer, Laryngeal Imaging and more.
  2. Innovative Solutions: Contribute to groundbreaking research that can lead to new treatments and technologies. Your participation can help shape the future of laryngology and improve patient outcomes.
  3. Professional Growth: Broaden your professional expertise by participating in cutting-edge projects. Develop new skills, expand your knowledge base, and cultivate a strong professional network.
  4. Visibility and Recognition: Showcase your work at the upcoming ELS Congress and gain valuable recognition within the international laryngological community. All ELS Projects will be featured in a dedicated session, providing an excellent platform for sharing your findings and insights.

How to Get Involved

We invite you to explore our website for more information on the current ELS Topics/Projects. If you are interested in joining an existing project or initiating a new one, please reach out to us at europeanlaryngologicalsociety@gmail.com. We encourage all ELS members to engage with this exciting initiative, and we welcome also young members who are eager to contribute their knowledge and enthusiasm to apply to join one of the ELS Projects if they have a particular interest.

Upcoming Opportunities

Stay tuned for updated about our next ELS Congress, where ongoing projects will be presented. This event will be a prime opportunity to discuss the latest advancements, network with peers, and explore potential collaborations.

In addition to our projects, the ELS maintains a Scientific Council, comprised of leading experts in various fields of laryngology who provide guidance, support, and representation for the society at international events and educational courses.
